I have owned about 40 Honda, Suzuki and Yamaha scooters over the years. Given basic maintenance I've generally found them to be quite reliable. Scooter owners tend to be more hands off than motorcycle owners, which is fine as long as the maintenance still gets done. A well maintained scooter may go 50,000 miles or more before a major rebuild. A poorly maintained scooter won't even last 5000 miles.

There are some disadvantages to using a scooter. They can be hazardous in bad weather. They are not too easily seen, when you are in a congested area of traffic. If you are one to worry about your hair, you can count on re-grooming it at your destination. But probably the most important factor is that of general safety. You don't wear a seat belt. You don't have a lot of steel and metal around you to protect you. Your percentage of getting hurt in an accident is much higher.

Members of European Parliament Motorcycle Ride

Once a year, the Federation of European Motorcycle Associations (FEMA) take the Members of the European Parliament out for a motorcycle ride.
It's a great idea, since it gives those politicians that vote for laws affecting us riders an idea what it is like to ride a motorcycle.

Good old Austrian off road motorcycle manufacturer is already known that it makes bicycles, but did you know that they also used to make 50 cc mopeds?
So now the motorcycle manufacturer is making everything that moves, from bicycles to cars..
